Sniffle Sniffle

I woke up two nights ago to Parker coughing and sniffling and it sounded like he was choking. It totally freaked me out! I literally jumped out of bed and grabbed him and started patting his back. My poor little baby had a runny nose and I had to suck his snot out with that little snot bulb thing. HE DID NOT LIKE THAT. It seems like during the day he feels a little better but at night time he doesn't feel very good. Steve and I had him sleep in the swing next to our bed last night so that he could sleep sitting elevated so that the snot wouldn't drain down the back of his throat. I feel so helpless. He has a little raspy cry and it breaks my heart. I just keep taking vitamin C and immune builders and hope that he will get it through my breast milk. Say a little prayer for baby Parker.
For now, I am just spoiling him with love and affection and am letting him stay in my arms all day. He smiled at me this morning. :) So I think it's helping. I just hope that this is allergies and not a cold.

I love you Parker.

  2. It seems like all of my babies get a cold at about 2 weeks of age. It really freaked me out the first time, but now I am used to it. Yes, they LOVE the snot-sucker:-) Actually, Adam LOVES using those on our babies. Seriously. I usually let him do it now.

  4. Joss got a cold when she was just a few weeks old too. You feel so bad for them, because there is nothing you can do for them.

Also, I think I would rather him have a cold then allergies. A cold comes and goes, but allergies are a lifetime problem.

  6. When we brought Bailey to AZ a few weeks ago she got the same way. She had a really hard time breathing at night and we were sucking stuff out of her nose as well. When we got back to WA she got better so maybe it is something with the air in AZ. I also had a dr. tell me not to use the sucker too much cuz it can make there nose all swollen and then it takes them longer to get better, but I think it's ok as long as it's not all the time.

  15. I hope he feels better soon. One thing I would tell myself was that they are building their antibodies so they won't be as sick later. I think it helped a bit... :-)
