New Years Celebration- Family Style

We rung in the new year at Steve's parents cabin with Mike, Lindsay and Hadley. We ate lots of delicious homemade food, rode quads, relaxed, ate some more (hey we had to get in our last bit of junk food before we started our New Years resolutions... wow, that sounds wrong), and I got Lindsay hooked on Downton Abbey-- the best British Masterpiece Series EVER. I cannot wait for season 2 to start this Sunday! If you haven't watched it yet, please do. We can start a British Masterpiece Club and we'll discuss the show in British accents. Who's in??

Anyway, we bundled up our babies because it was pretty cold outside.
Hudson's beanie was packed in his suitcase where Parker was sleeping...
luckily, his cousin Hadley had one that he could borrow. He sure looks darling in pink. :) he he
They looked like little dolls riding on the quads all bundled up. It was so cute. Hudson had NO facial expression the entire time. Not sure if he liked it or not. We really couldn't tell. :)

I love the mischievous look on his face. He is so proud of himself for standing up.

The boys had fun (especially Parker) starting a fire in the fireplace. Parker was "one of the guys" this weekend. It was awesome. When we got the the cabin, he looked around and said "Mom, who's house is this?" I had a good laugh and told him "Mimi and Grandpa's." He replied back, "Oh, Mimi and Grandpa's house? Mom, wook at that (pointing the the ceiling). Wood and rope!" The ceiling is wooden with a rope edging around it. He is talking so much now and is VERY assertive.
We lit off sparklers on New Years Eve around 8 o'clock, which ended very promptly because Hudson and Hadley were not fans.
Then we put the kids down, laid around and talked for a bit and then all went to bed around 10:45. That's what I call a New Years Eve celebration. It was great to kiss Steve good night and cuddle up in bed before midnight. That's just how we roll folks. :) We are party animals.
We went to church on Sunday morning which was pretty interesting. Parker was extra energetic that day. Holy moly. He pulled on the hymn book carrier on the pew in front of us and broke it. It made a very loud, cracking noise and then he YELLED about six times over and over "Mom! I broke it! I broke it Mom!!" I wanted to slide down underneath my pew and crawl away out of embarrassment! He had both rows in front and behind us laughing... we left right before the closing song. I wonder if everyone in the congregation wondered who the heck that noisy family came from. :)
By the end, this little guy was completely worn out and ready for a nap.

I am now on day 3 of healthy eating and I haven't had any dessert! It's a miracle. I'm trying to rid my body of my insane sugar addiction from the holidays!
My New Years Resolutions will be posted soon. I also got a new hair do, I'll have to post pictures-- I finally did ombre, and I love it!
Happy New Year everyone!

  1. Couple of things:
    1) Is Hudson standing up on his own now? If so... what the heck???

    2) Day two for me of healthy eating, same insane sugar addiction!
