Baby Parker Showed Up Early!

I had a full day at work on Wednesday July 22nd. Throughout the day I had many what I thought were "braxton hicks" contractions. I even got my hair done at the end of my day and I thought that I was just having practice labor. But these were no braxton hicks, this was the real deal! I panicked and called my mom and my sister Tara and she told me that I was in labor and needed to go to the hospital immediately. I called Steve and he sped home from work and we went home first to pack our bags and get ready. I freaked out a little bit because I was totally and completely unprepared and I was exhausted from being up since 6:30 that morning and being on my feet all day at work. Plus, my doctor and half of our family was out of town! I laid on the couch and listened to my hypnobirthing meditation cd's and timed my contractions for a few hours. We finally decided to go to the hospital around 1 am.

Steve was the best! He was running around the house doing laundry and getting as much as he could ready for the baby while I laid on the couch and got through my contractions. He even helped my mom and I relax by doing hypnobirthing relaxation techniques... my mom got so relaxed she was snoring! It was pretty funny! He was cracking jokes and making us laugh all night! It hurt to laugh but definitely helped me get through the pain!

This is me during a contraction, not so peachy, but Steve really helped me get through them! After 12 hours of hard labor, I decided I wanted an epidural... and let me tell you... IT WAS AWESOME! I was able to get some sleep and relax after I got the epidural!

My mom was a saint and stayed up all night with us after waking up at 3:30 am that morning to take my dad to the air port... yes my dad was out of town when the baby was born. We definitely did not think he was going to come two weeks early!

This was the best moment of my life.

Parker came at 2:02 pm on Thursday July 23rd! He weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and was 19 inches long. Dr. Layton was out of town, so Dr. Tutt ended up delivering our baby boy. My delivery was great! Once they broke my water, I had the baby within an hour and it only took 20 minutes to push him out. He definitely tried to make everything easy for me!

Can you tell Steve is a proud daddy? He is seriously the best dad in the whole world! Parker definitely looks like his daddy!

We are officially a family of three! It feels so great!

Kambri was very excited to hold her new cousin. She kept kissing him and was very still when she held him.

There are three generations of Larsen's in this picture. And the cute boy on the far left is Parker's Uncle McKay, who he is named after. Steve and I were so tired that night, by the time we went to bed, we had been up for 34 hours! We were a little delirious! Sleep definitely felt great!

Being a mom is the greatest thing in the whole world. Can you tell I love this kid?

He has the biggest feet and hands I have ever seen! He is definitely going to be a tall boy like his daddy!

I think we'll keep him. :)
