Making Deals With a 2 Year Old

Parker and Hudson both have little colds right now-- tis the season.
Parker has been very, very picky lately when it comes to eating (even things he normally loves-- like hawaiian haystacks... I spent an hour trying to get him to eat just one bite and he wouldn't have anything to do with it!) He can be very... stubborn sometimes (I guess he was bound to be a little stubborn coming from two parents who are... "set on what they want.")
I try to fight everything the "natural way" for myself and for my children. My favorite thing to do is mix up a little bit of plain, greek yogurt with a few drops of vanilla Stevia and I mix in a capsule of probiotics, sometimes a little vitamin C powder and whatever else will help with their condition. I come from a very holistic family and so does Steve so it's in our blood. :)
Parker normally (well until a couple of weeks ago) eats greek yogurt for breakfast with a glass of "green drink." I tried getting him to eat some of my "special yogurt concoction" to help his immune system but he did not want it today. I finally managed to trick bribe persuade him to eat it by telling him that I would let him eat it out of my "special bowl" if he promised to be very careful with it. I made it out to be a really big deal to eat out of my "special bowl" and asked him to carry it very carefully to the couch and he could watch veggie tales. He got a twinkle in his eye and took baby steps to the couch, holding the bowl very securely in his two hands. He sat down, picked up the spoon and scarfed it down in a matter of 60 seconds-- success! I feel like I should win an award or something!

My "Special Bowl"... try it. It worked like a charm!
Crusty yogurt face= evidence that he enjoyed it!
I'm not going to lie, motherhood definitely tests my patience, causes anxiety and makes me very frustrated at times. But when all is said and done, I wouldn't change it for the world because it is the most satisfying, joyful, wonderful thing I have ever experienced. I thank God every single day for allowing me to be a mother.
