Our Vancouver/Seattle Trip

Steve and I really wanted to get away for theLabor Day weekend. We had always wanted to see the famous Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia so we thought why not do it now!! We flew to Seattle and rented a car and drove up to Vancouver. It was a breathtaking drive! On Sunday morning we took a ferry (that was the largest ferry I have ever seen in my life) over to Victoria Island. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there, but the ferry had a restaurant, a gift shop and plenty of gorgeous views to keep us occupied! When we got off of the ferry, we rode a bus over to the gardens that took about an hour. I have to say that I think EVERYONE should experience seeing Butchart Gardens  sometime in their lifetime! It is spectacular! We felt like we died and went to heaven it was so beautiful! Then on Monday we drove up to north Vancouver and went to the world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge. Man was that scary to walk across! The bridge went across this giant canyon with a river flowing through at the bottom. Once you cross the bridge, they had a tree top adventure that had tons on bridges that went from tree to tree. It was so much fun. Steve and I felt like little kids again walking across those bridges! It was a blast and the weather was in the '60's so it was absolutely perfect! After that, we went to Stanley Park and grabbed lunch and ate halibut fish and chips and split a yummy burger. The fish in Canada definitely tastes a lot better than it does over here in Arizona thats for sure! On Tuesday, we drove back down to Seattle and ate lunch at the restaurant on top of the Space Needle! The views were so amazing! We definitely would love to go back to Seattle to spend more time there and explore the city more. After the space needle we drove around downtown Seattle to try to find parking to shop around, but couldn't find parking anywhere! How do people live in the city? Oh well, I guess I can shop anytime since I work two minutes from Fashion Square Mall! After searching endlessly for parking we decided to head over to the airport...which was a good thing because we missed the turn that the GPS told us to take and it took us about thirty minutes extra to get there! It's funny now, but at the moment we were definitely not the happiest campers in the world! ha ha. All in all, we had a really great getaway and the memories we made were all unforgettable! We saw so many beautiful places, ate ice cream EVERY SINGLE DAY,  and got   upgraded to a  sweet SUV rental car for free. We laughed a lot on our trip, especially when we realized the reason why our GPS was telling us to drive through neighborhoods and surface streets instead of highways was because it was on a bicycle setting! That was a hard but funny thing to find out at the end of our trip! It thought we were a bicycle the whole time so it kept re-routing us and making it way harder than it should have been! All in all, we had so much fun! We are so blessed to be able to take time off when we want and go on fun vacations together!
