Learning is fun!

Parker is getting smarter and smarter every day. I am amazed by how much he remembers and it's so fun to see his little brain develop and see him learning and talking more. He is fascinated with books. We decided it was time to for him to start getting tutored. Sheila is a wonderful, kind, brilliant, very genuine woman that has been tutoring my husband's family for many, many years. She comes over 4-5 times a week and reads to him. He LOVES it!
She has this way with children that is just completely fascinating. She said that it is best to tell your own version of the story when you reads books to your child at first. She is very expressive and explains a lot of things that are going on to help him develop his language. Then she will start to teach him how to read once his language develops better. She taught my brother-in-law and my niece to read before they turned 3! It is so amazing! I know Parker will be the same because he is talking more and more ever since she started tutoring him. Children's brains are like sponges at this age. They develop so fast at this stage in life.
She is reading him his favorite book, Where Is Spot.
Hudson enjoys his alone time with mommy while his big brother gets tutored. We play on the floor, sing songs, and snuggle. Just what every baby needs!
Look at those long eye lashes!
Parker decided he was "all done" a little earlier than normal the other day. He just wanted to play with his toys, which was fine with us. Hudson jumped right in and let Sheila read to him while he sat on her lap! She loved every second of it. She is so good with kids. We are so lucky to have her!
The other day, I took the kids to the grocery store with me. As I was strolling down the isle, a voice came over the intercom and said "Erin, please report to isle 7. Thank you." Parker looked at me completely wide eyed and yelled at the top of his lungs "EWIN! EWIN!! Mommy!!" I laughed so hard and told him "Yes Parker. Very good! Mommy's name is Erin!" About three minutes later, they repeated the same message over the intercom. Parker, again wide-eyed, looked around and yelled "EWIN!!" He looked at everyone around us like "umm... hello?! Does anybody realize that they are saying my mom's name??" It was so funny! I thought it was pretty smart that he made that connection! He is one smart little cookie I tell you!
Kids are so fun! :)
