Life Lessons

Today at church, I learned a small life lesson from Parker and my nephew, Jase (who is turning 4 this week!) Jase came to the back of the chapel to sit with us at the very end of Sacrament meeting and noticed that Parker was eating fruit snacks... every kids favorite snack! He looked at Parker with these desperate eyes of wanting one but knew that there was only one left. Parker didn't even hesitate, stuck his little finger in the bag and gave Jase his very last fruit snack (which is a big deal for a two year old in my opinion.) When Jase graciously took it from Parker, he ripped it in two so that they could share it. How sweet was that? 

I couldn't stop thinking about how the both of them were so selfless and were thinking about the other person and not themselves. And as I sat there in awe after watching them share so willingly with each other, it made me think about how much I have to learn from these innocent, pure, optimistic, sweet children. It is no wonder that the Savior always tells us to "become as little children."

"Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble yourself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 18:2-4).

I coudn't find a recent picture of my nephew Jase, but I did find this sweet picture of my boys cuddling.

I'm a happy Mama today. I guess this is how the Lord feels when he see's us (His children) serving and doing kind deeds. That is really what life is all about. The Lord wants to see us thinking of others and serving our fellow men. I have been so blessed to have witnessed so many kind deeds this week. I have had cookies dropped off, kind emails written, text messages wishing me to get well (which I am SO much better, thank you!), and many more things. I feel so loved. Thank you! God is good.
