My Boy is Growing Up

I can't believe this day has come. Parker started preschool today and he couldn't be happier about it! He has been asking about when he is going to school for a long time now. We took him to meet his teacher yesterday and he was really bummed when it was time to go. He bounced out of bed this morning and yelled "I go to school today!!"
He was totally working it for the camera this morning!
His teacher is Ms. Lori (on the right) and his teachers aid, Miss Reagan (on left).
*He amazes me every day with how much he knows. He is still working with his tutor, Sheila, and just read me an entire Dick and Jane book the other day. He is starting to read really good. It's so exciting to watch!
*He loves counting things and he gets excited when he can read words or recognizes places he has been when we drive in the car. He yells really loud while pointing "Mom! We went dare (there)!"
* He loves playing with other kids and is developing a great imagination. Anytime he sees another kid, he will go up to them and say "What's yo name? I'm Paw-kow" (Parker.) He's is working on saying his "r's"... I love his voice and will probably be sad when it changes and he says his "r's" the right way.
*He is also a great helper and will usually help me with anything I ask him to. He especially loves to pull up a chair in the kitchen and help me cook.
*He quotes movies better than anyone I know. Yesterday, we were driving somewhere and he said in a very low voice "I'm supposed to eeeeeeaat you!" (It's the giant from Enchanted.) It made me laugh so hard! I love his fun personality. He loves to make people smile and is a definite peace maker.
*He is also really protective of me. Yesterday, we got cut off by a lady on the freeway and I laid on my horn and said learn how to drive lady. Parker said "Mom, what happened?" I told him that that lady didn't know how to drive and she almost ran into us. When we got to the stop light at the off ramp, the woman waved and me and said sorry. Parker looked over and yelled "Don't do dat! Don't wun into my mom!.... Mom, I yelled a her." I guess I need to be a little more careful how I react. :) whoops.
*He is so excited to go to Disneyland and tells everyone he meets that he is going to Disneyland in four months. Poor guy, we probably told him too soon.... four months is a long time to have to wait for a three year old!

We sure love you, Parker boy. :)
