Welcome to the world Everett Jacob Larsen

Well, after 4 weeks on bed rest and thinking I was going to have our baby early (at least by 38 weeks) I ended up scheduling an induction 3 days AFTER my due date! Our little boy decided he liked it after all inside the womb and did not want to come out! I tried EVERY old wives tale to induce labor. I had a few false alarms where I thought that I was in labor, contractions were 3-4 minutes apart and then... they stopped--cold. turkey. It was surreal driving to the hospital at 3am knowing that they would induce me and I was going to have a baby. I had never been induced and have always gone into labor on my own, so my anxiety was kind of higher than normal because I didn't have the adrenaline rush of being in labor. When we checked into the hospital on March 31st, they hooked me up to monitors and the nurse laughed because she said I was having contractions 4 minutes apart and that labor started on its own so no need for pitocin.  Then she gave me an IV and pumped me full of fluids which stopped my contractions. So they ended up giving me pitocin after all. My contractions didn't hurt too bad, maybe I was just use to having contractions for 2 straight months, I was use to the pain! ha! I requested an epidural before the doctor broke my water because I was nervous that the contractions would get super painful after the epidural. Best decision ever. I was so relaxed and calm during my labor. When it came time to push, I could feel a lot of pressure and was ready to go. Man did those 25 minutes feel like an eternity though-- it was much harder to push this baby out than my first two. When he finally arrived, I discovered why- he weighed 8 lbs 5 oz! That is 2 pounds more than Parker and Hudson were!
The second they laid him on my chest, I fell in love with him immediately. I always get emotional and cry when I hold my babies in my arms for the first time. It is a sacred experience for me. I think of their sweet little spirit coming straight from heaven. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude and love for God entrusting me to be their mother. I feel an enormous responsibility and blessing to have the calling of raising our Father in Heavens special spirits to become good, honest, hard working, honorable men one day.
 Meet Everett Jacob Larsen
weighing a whopping 8 lbs 5 oz and measuring 22 inches long!

Steve was one proud daddy. It is still crazy to think that we have THREE boys now! I have so much love for Steve and it seems to magnify with every kid we have. I am so grateful to be married to such an incredibly loving, caring man.
The boys were so excited to meet their new brother!

Hudson showed me his owiee on his finger right when he walked into the room. He also came with a pretty hardcore black eye (he bonked his head on the toilet while he was trying to plank on the ground for his Mimi to come wipe him... classic Hudson move!) He's such a funny boy!
Parker couldn't wait to hold him. He was so excited to have a new baby brother!

I'm really glad that my parents were both in the room during the birth. Having the two people that brought me here and raised me in the same room while I brought in our sweet Everett into the world was very special.

I am grateful that everything went as smooth as it did with Everett's birth. He is a very sweet baby boy. We have had some difficulty with breast feeding (ouch-- I always struggle in the beginning because it's so darn painful), and I got a random ear infection last week, but other than that-- things are going great with our new babe!

Welcome to the world sweet boy!
